Duane Prentice
PROJECTS
Duane Prentice is documentary, cinema stills, and fine art photographer, listed in the Magenta Foundation’s Carte Blanche of Canadian photographers. He previously worked with international photographic agencies Network Photographers UK and Tom Keller NY. Duane divides his time between feature films, personal art projects and Canada’s national newspaper, the Globe and Mail. He is a registered member of the IATSE 669 cinema camera union and the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ). In the Crucible, a five-year documentary project on people’s lives in Vancouver's Downtown East-side, was awarded a 2001 NPPA Honourable Mention and a Canada Council Travel Bursary to Iraq. He is presently working on Remnants, a large format project of Vancouver Island and will be in Borneo for 12 weeks in 2012. He is based in Victoria, B.C.
