Celebrating 1,000 Years.
In 1996, Toronto's Polish community invited PhotoSensitive to help it celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Gdansk. A major cultural centre, the city reflects many influences Polish, German, Dutch, English, Scandinavian, French and Italian and is famous as the place where the Second World War and the fight to overthrow communism began. Seven PhotoSensitive photographers spent 10 days in Gdansk capturing the unique beauty, history and vitality of this wonderfully photogenic city and its people. The show opened in Toronto in May 1997 and has since been shown in Gdansk, Ottawa and Chicago.
